Nova Star Pharmacy is a local, independent pharmacy opened four years ago by Certified Pharmacist Andrea Golemi. He states, “We specialize in customer service and quality products. The vision of our Fishtown pharmacy is to be a contributor of the community, making us ‘not your average pharmacy’. Our team cares for our customers as we do for our own friends and family. We aren’t out to push products, we’re out to better the lives of the people in our community. When people come to us, they can feel that.”

Nova Star Pharmacy concentrates on holistic and natural medication, with the intention to diagnose the root problem of customers and to ensure that they get the correct medications and nutrients that they need.

When someone comes in with an issue, Golemi says he wants to get to the root of it. “My goal is to understand why the person is coming in and what we can do to make them better. I treat my clients like people, not patients. I also concentrate more on holistic and natural medications, because adding that to our daily life can make all of the difference.”

He explains one big difference in patronizing an independent, local business; “A lot of people take comfort in going to big pharmacy chains due to their well-branded names, but don’t realize the customer service that they are missing out on by not coming to a smaller pharmacy like our own.”

