Huge Farmers’ Market Accepts Public Assistance Vouchers

Clark Park is home to one of the largest and most well-populated farmers’ markets, operated by The Food Trust, in Philadelphia, with more than a dozen vendors of organic fruits, heirloom vegetables, milk, eggs, cheeses, meats, flowers and more. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays year-round and 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays from June through November.

It’s a real neighborhood event where friends and visitors come together to talk, shop, support local agriculture and meet the farmers that grow their food. WIC and Senior FMNP vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables are accepted. The ACCESS/food stamps card is accepted at every stand at the market except for food trucks. For every $5 that customers spend using food stamp benefits, they receive a $2 Philly Food Bucks coupon that can be used on fruits and vegetables.

Location: 43rd St. and Baltimore Ave. For more information, email Lisa Kelly at [email protected] or visit TheFoodTrust.org.
