Sustainability Day at the Navy Yard
The
Clean Air Council and the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC)
are sponsoring Sustainability Day at the Navy Yard from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.,
October 3, outdoors at the Marine parade grounds. Sustainability Day includes
environmental groups, prizes and a passport for attendees to fill out and
receive a swag bag.
The
four sustainable lunch trucks afford a great opportunity to learn what the Navy
Yard's 13,000 employees and 150 companies are doing to tackle climate change. During
Lunch Truck Lineup, a sustainability fair features more than 15 regional
organizations providing information, giveaways and products to be more
environmentally friendly. The day also includes free electronics and battery
recycling, free paper shredding and free Earth Yoga at noon.
Participants can also explore the Navy Yard and learn more about sustainability efforts. Other partners include the Navy, Johnson Controls, Penn State, Lux Products and Ben Franklin Technologies.
Location: Broad St. and Intrepid Ave., Philadelphia. For more information, visit Tinyurl.com/NavyYardSustainabilityDay.
